269045 GUNNER CHARLES MAITLAND STUART
2nd Bn, Reserve Brigade, Royal Field Artillery
DIED OF PNEUMONIA 5-12-18 Aged 18
Interred in Derrykeighan Parish Churchyard
Charles Stuart served in the Royal Field Artillery but must have had very little experience of war- fare at the front. He was only eighteen years of age when he died of pneumonia a few weeks after the end of the war. He is buried in Derrykeighan New Cemetery. He was probably a cousin of James Stuart who was killed flying behind enemy lines in the area of Vimy Ridge in April 1917.
